Super-classy couple, they love to dance so we started out with some dancing shots to get the mood going… and then took it from there. My only complaint for the session is that it lasted far too little, these guys were really fun to work with!

Gavin One Year Old – South Florida Family Portrait Photographer

What an amazing little boy! Gavin is about the same age as our own smallest one, Marco and he’s every bit as adorable. It was SOO much fun taking these photos documenting how cool he was already at just one year old. In fact I think he’s set the bar pretty high for his future self… now we’re all going to expect him to live up to the “hype” 🙂

We started off the session with his two brothers, Aiden and Logan… who are actually featured in one of our World Cup series potraits we haven’t posted yet… the three are a handful I’m sure, but they are incredibly adorable.

As you may have noticed in the first shot above, I decided to take this in a different direction than most one year old sessions you see out there. My thinking was… how cool would an adorable one year old look if we shot him using the techniques usually reserved for Seniors and models?

I hope looking at the other photos that follow you’ll agree that the result was pretty epic!

Stephanie and Drack – South Florida Engagement Photographer – Sneak Peek

A Sneak Peek from a great engagement session we had a few days ago on Hollywood Beach.

Here’s a shot I just had to share…can’t wait to put this one on the portfolio… do these guys look amazing or what?!?!?

I’m posting this other shot as a testament to backup equipment. You know… the “Extra Stuff” that you should expect your professional photographer to own and carry along. Stephanie’s engagement ring is a unique black pearl with two white pearls around it. About a half hour into the session I decided that I wanted to take a ring shot. In the process of getting the camera body with the macro lens the camera ended up dropping on the asphalt… the lens was torn into three pieces and the body took a hit on the memory card door which would no longer open.
While it’s never fun to see an expensive piece of equipment lying on the floor in pieces, what would be even less fun would be having to hand the ring back to the bride to be and saying “sorry, my macro is busted, so I can’t take a ring shot.”

Backup equipment rocks!

Krystin and Jim Wedding Sneak Peek – South Florida Destination Wedding Photographer

I’ve been anxiously waiting for these two to get back from their honeymoon so that I could put up a few of their images as a teaser of things to come. Without taking away from any of my other clients I have to say that Krystin and Jim will always occupy a very special place in my memories. I was truly saddened when our plans to meet up once they disbarked from their honeymoon cruise, just a few miles up the road in Fort Lauderdale, were foiled by our own plans for our 5 year old’s birthday party.

Much more will come later… in the meantime here are a few shots from their wonderful wedding in Richmond Virginia:
